Understanding Your Child's Love Language

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Do you know your child’s love language?  Are you letting your child express his/her emotions based on how they truly feel or how you think they should feel?

These topics were covered during the Kid’s City Expo  www.stlkidcity.com that took place last Saturday at the Science Center.  The presentation by Living Well by Design provided a good foundation for parents to learn about their child’s love language.  At the event, children were allowed to create a pumpkin and express their emotion at that time.  There was one child who stated that he pumpkin was sad but her father attempted to get her to change her mind by telling her that her pumpkin was not sad.  During that time, Sara decided to talk to the father to discuss with him the importance of allowing his child to express her.  At the same time, the interns were talking to the child and discovered the cause of her sadness.

Again, I ask - Do you know your child’s love language?  Are you letting your child express his/her emotions based on how they truly feel or how you think they should feel?
